A rapid decrease in the level of the Iguaçu River allowed the National Parks to reopen access to the Falls this Sunday, one day earlier than planned. The entry of tourists was only prohibited on Saturday, when the peak is closed, which was generated by 200 millimeters of steel in the high basins, even in Brazilian territory.

In just a few hours, the river flow increased by 80% and reached 18,000 cubic meters per second, twelve times more than the average Iguaçu. The sustained downward current that occurred on Saturday afternoon and the absence of new damage to the Upper and Lower circuits was what led the authorities to reopen the park, with limited hours only for this Sunday: from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

On a day of full sun, there were about 3,500 tourists who were surprised like the roar of the turbid waters that fell from 80 meters high to continue their rapid journey in search of Paraná.

This second fair, or visiting hours, is again normal, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the company Iguazú Argentina, concessionaire of park services, informs people who have purchased access tickets and will not be able to make the pass due to the increase. , the power will be used in the next twelve months.

From the last sixth fair, tourists visiting the Falls will be able to walk along the trails of Macuco and Verde; In addition to all of the Lower Circuit and partially the Upper Circuit, to enjoy the unusual vazão presented by the cachoeiras Dos Hermanas, Chico, Ramírez, Bosetti, Adán y Eva, Méndez e Mbiguá. The Garganta do Diabo circuit is disabled due to damage caused by the walkways.

Specialists estimate that the river will remain high in the coming days and do not rule out new developments, since as of the fifth day the return of copious flows has been announced for the entire region, as a result of the El Niño phenomenon. In the last two months the level of chuva has doubled and it is estimated that this situation remains pending until the end of the year.

Last weekend, Misiones and a large part of southern Brazil were hit by intense storms and storms that caused an explosive rise in the flow of the Iguaçu River. The hydroelectric plants installed in the vizinho country will not be able to contain the enormous void in the second fair or peak of the current sighting of the Falls. The river moved 24.2 thousand cubic meters per second, 17 times at average speed.

Now it has caused a 60% drop in the walkway that leads to the varanda of the Diabo Gorge, or more spectacular two 275 jumps. The drone survey initially allowed us to verify that only five pieces of 99 cut the mooring ropes and washed them down the river.

As Cataratas has a new system of walkways. São metal constructions parafusadas a concrete stakes driven in the river bank. When a large wave approaches, the operators remove the parafuses and rebate them as large, so that the force of the water as it moves does not cause ruptures in the bases.

The National Parks and the company Iguazú Argentina indicate that a validation requires two damages on the passarela will only be possible when the vacuum drops below 10,000 cubic meters per second.

Everything indicates that the repair of the road cannot be carried out within a short period. These forecasts indicate the persistence of the chuvas and snow of the above-normal rivers. Operators will only be able to start rescue work on stretches of the walkway when the water level is below 5,000 cubic meters per second.
